Sport Club Roundup — April 14, 2017

Men's Volleyball

The men's volleyball club competed at the Midwest Plains Volleyball Conference Championships on Saturday and Sunday, April 8-9, in Columbia, Mo. WashU went 6-2 in the tournament and finished in 10th place overall. The Bears opened the tournament with a pair of wins over Augustana (25-0, 25-0) and Lewis B (25-17, 25-14) before falling to Mizzou A (25-16, 25-17). In the second round of pool play, WashU split a pair of three-set matches with a win over Maryville (20-25, 25-14, 15-9) and and a loss to Lincoln A (25-20, 16-25, 15-12). The Bears ran the table in the silver bracket, defeating Mizzou C (25-17, 25-17), Lewis A (25-17, 25-20), and Mizzou B to earn 10th place. Click here for full results

Golf

The WashU golf club finished in second place at an event on Saturday and Sunday, April 8-9 at the Tiffany Greens Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo. WashU had a team score of 414-398—812, let by Tavid Lee-Tolley's 74-76—150.

Table Tennis

The WashU table tennis club competed at the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association National Championships Friday through Sunday, April 7-9 in Eau Claire, Wis. Arefeh Sherafati went 303 in the tournament, placing second in the women's singles consolation bracket. Lou Schlessinger finished with one win and four losses in men's singles. 

Crew

The WashU crew club hosted Saint Louis University and the University of Missouri Kansas City for the inaugural Missouri Collegiate Challenge on Saturday, April 8, at Creve Coeur Lake. WashU swept the competition, taking wins in the Mixed 4+, Men's Novice 4+, Women's Varsity 4+, Men's Varsity 4+ and Mixed 8+ races. 

Running

The WashU running club competed at the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association National Championships on Saturday and Sunday, April 8-9 in Indianapolis, Ind. The WashU women's team finished 12th in the half marathon while the men's team men's team finished 17th.
