Sport Club Roundup — April 13, 2018

Women's Rugby

The WashU women's rugby club suffered a 43-15 loss to Missouri on March 31 at South Campus Field. Maddie Marise scored two tries for the Bears while Maddy Yaggi scored one try.

Women's Ultimate

The WashU men's ultimate club's B squad "Locamotive" competed in the Indy Invitational March 31 and April 1 in Indianapolis. Locamotive went 1-5 in the tournament with a win over Wooster College B. 

Men's Ultimate

The WashU men's ultimate club's A squad "Contra" competed in the Huck Finn tournament March 31 and April 1 in St. Louis. Contra finished fourth in the tournament with wins over Case Western Reserve, Tennessee-Chattanooga and Texas.

The men's ultimate club's B squad "Contraband" competed in the Illinois Invitational March 31 and April 1 in Rantoul, Ill. Contraband went 2-4 with wins against Southern Indiana and Illinois C and losses to Illinois B, Michigan State B, Purdue B and Beloit College. 

Baseball

The WashU baseball club swept a doubleheader against Missouri S&T on April 7 at Forest Park. The Bears won the opener 7-5 before taking Game 2 5-2. Peter Koulogeorge pitched six strong innings to pick up the Game 2 win while Ean Murnan picked up a save in both wins. 

Women's Volleyball

The WashU women's volleyball club competed in the Midwest Plains Volleyball Conference Championships April 7-8 in Edwardsville, Ill. WashU went 4-2 in the tournament and won the Silver Bracket, placing ninth out of 17 teams overall. The Bears opened pool play with a win over SIUE (22-25, 25-16, 15-10) and a loss to Missouri State (25-22, 25-13) before splitting the second day of pool play with a win over Missouri S&T (26-24, 25-12) and a loss to Kansas State (25-20, 25-17). WashU swept the Silver Bracket with wins over SIUE (25-14, 26-24) and Missouri B (25-22, 25-17). 

Equestrian

The WashU equestrian club competed in its Regional/Zone Championships April 7-8 in Springfield, Mo. WashU placed fourth out of 10 teams in the region while club vice president Kat Mistick won Intermediate Hunt Seat Equitation on the Flat to advance out of Regionals and into Zones where she placed ninth. 

Women's Water Polo

The WashU women's water polo club competed in the Midwest Conference Tournament April 7-8 in St. Peters, Mo. The Bears went 0-4 in the tournament with losses to Lindenwood, Notre Dame, Grand Valley State and Illinois State. Senior goalie Hayley Clocksin tallied 28 saves and three steals over the weekend while Meredith Stone tallied two goals and two assists and Natalie Goldman had one goal and five steals. WashU will compete in the Conference Championships April 21-22 at Notre Dame. 

Triathlon

The WashU triathlon club had runners compete in the Go St. Louis Marathon on April 8. Caleb Wolders placed 26th and Sean Fallon finished 35th out of 3,594 overall participants and WashU placed second out of 202 relay teams in the event.

Men's Water Polo

The WashU men's water polo club competed in the Notre Dame Invitational April 7-8 in South Bend, Ind. WashU went 1-3 in the tournament with a win over Saint Louis (13-6) and losses to Iowa State (10-9), Notre Dame (7-5) and Notre Dame Alumni (10-5).
